Carnifex have announced plans to go on a hiatus after they finish up their current tour. the band states it's for a number of reasons, and want to make clear they are still a band. It could be that like many bands out there the finances aren't amazing and they need to work for a bit with a job that pays better, or maybe they just need a break. I doubt this will be the last we hear from the band, but for now they won't be doing much.

First and for most, a sincere thank you is in order to our fans and friends across the world. Without your support and passion, we are nothing.
As of now, Carnifex is in a state of suspended animation. The reasons for this are many and complicated. Let me be clear in saying that Shawn, Cory, Ryan, Fred and I (Scott) are still members of Carnifex. Let me also be clear in saying that although the future is very uncertain, I can say with optimism, that this is not farewell, but rather, until we meet again.
Carnifex is now retreating into the obscurity we once came from. Be certain that us as individuals and as band-mates have a true love for this band. Our desire to create our brand of art and music has never been about trends or money. These things will not decide out future.If you want to see them live, better hop to it. Otherwise you'll be waiting a while. Also if you haven't heard their latest album Until I Feel Nothing, you may want to check it out. It's pretty solid.
